Frequently asked questions

01 Why do screenshots need a background? +

Raw screenshots usually have a white background and hard square edges, so on a white feed or document page they bleed into the page and the reader cannot tell where the image starts. A coloured backdrop and a soft shadow separate the image and make it look deliberate.

02 Can I paste an image directly? +

Yes, and it is the fastest way to work. Capture with your system shortcut, then press Ctrl + V on Windows or ⌘ + V on Mac right on this page — no need to save a file first.

03 When should I use the transparent background? +

When you want the rounding and shadow but will place the image over a background that already exists in your slide or design. The exported PNG keeps the transparency.

04 Does this reduce image quality? +

The export is PNG, so the original pixels are not compressed away. Images wider than 2400 px are scaled down to that width so the browser tab does not run out of memory.

05 Is my image uploaded anywhere? +

No. All the drawing happens on a canvas inside your tab. No request leaves the browser and nothing is stored.
